Botanical Name: Asparagus racemosa
Other Names: Asparagus Root, Satavar, Shatamull
Attributes: Fertility, Passion, Healing
The root comes from a plant known in Latin as Asparagus racemosus. The roots, which are tubers, are what are known as adventitious, which means that the plant can send out shoots from all over the plant and not just the roots. This plant creates a very large root system because of the creeping nature of the plant. It is therefore used in workings where an overarching approach is needed in complex situations. Associated with fertility, passion and healing.
Shatavari root is commonly used as a female tonic to generally improve health slowly over time. It is believed to help with relieving pain, with increasing libido and to increase milk production.
