Handcrafted from raffia with oaten straw accents, the Brídeóg is part of most traditional imbolc/imbolg celebrations. The Doll is wrapped in green flannel and a bed is made for her, to show Brigid that her (and her bounty) is welcome in your home. Traditionally the Brídeóg is paraded from house-to-house - you may wish to take yours around your block three times. Brigid was said to visit one's home at Imbolc. To receive Brigid’s blessings of abundance, growth and prosperity, make a bed for Brigid and leave her food and drink. Items of clothing can be left outside in the moonlight for her to bless. Brigid is also invoked to protect homes and livestock. this is a time feasting and divination.
This is a large, deluxe Brídeóg Doll to hang on your door or as an altar and is approximately 45cm long.
